Hi, I am looking on feedback on my website. I am getting frustrated with the lack of sales. I had a decent launch and made $460 in sales on my site in the first month and about $400 offline. Now, for almost a whole month I have not sold a single pot of wax and I am wondering why as my website content has improved dramatically in that past month. I should be in the peak buying season for my product too but it looks like all the other big corporations are enjoying the limelight right now. I have been hitting social media really hard and have about 130 followers on FB and IG at the moment, which I think is quite good for a company so new. I have been getting a few product reviews that were excellent.

I raised my prices from $69 to $90 and I have competitors that sell their similar wax for $200 and up. My plan was to move upmarket and be more competitive with their prices but I don't think I can do that since nobody seems to like my new price. I have been offering 10% discount codes through social media but I think that is getting old and I am planning on dropping that since nobody is taking advantage and I don't want to be known for it. I am offering a 25% off discount code only to my home car forum but nobody there seems interested either. Just a few buyers on my forum at first when I launched. The only real buyers I had when I launched where my family members and a few forum members.

I recently sold 5 pots of wax to a local detailing supply shop and the owner was really stoked out on the product after I gave him a free full sized sample and he decided to buy some and sell on ebay. He actually was the one who pursuaded me to up my price and said I was too cheap at $69. He thinks I should sell at $120-$150. I hesitate to jump up my prices again but I know he's right when he says my prices are still too low to attract "affluent" buyers. He hasn't sold any of my pots either in the 2 weeks he's had them.

My product really is great and the only known Non-VOC paste wax sealant on the market. It really is innovative and deserves more attention. I want to patent my product but not sure if that really is going to be useful for the cost involved. Other "green" detailing products have really taken off in recent years with buyer awareness increasing and the laws and ordinances passed recently.

I offer free shipping and a free premium applicator and microfiber towel with purchase and they both are really great products too!

I know my product pics are junk right now. I will take better ones. I know I also need more pics of ferraris and lamborghinis all waxed up but nobody that owns a nice car has bought my product yet! The few nice pics on my site were taken by me and one by my brother in law. My car I own is not really worthy of taking really prominent pictures of.

I know I need to get my product in the hands of blogging detailers that will do a good write up and take good pictures. That is my next plan of attack. I was planning on advertising on autogeek.com and autopia.com (both owned by PBMG who have competing product lines) but they want too much money to advertise with them for me at the moment. I am thinking it might be the only way to really get my name out there.

I know I need to introduce more products and especially cheaper detailing products to entice interest in my higher profit margin items but am afraid that is all anybody will buy. There really isn't any money to be had in $10 bottles of detailing spray.

Any other suggestions? I am running out of ideas and I really wish I could pay my mortgage with this business but it looks like that might never happen.

Frustrated.
